Ingredients

  • ½ cup filtered water or distilled water (the minerals in tap water can contribute to build-up)
  • 2 tsp white sugar (or more if needed - use the leftover sugar to make homemade body scrub)
  • 2 tbsp high proof vodka (optional, rubbing alcohol will also work)

Instructions

To Make

  • Bring water to a boil.
  • Remove from heat and stir in 2 teaspoons of sugar. Keep stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  • Allow the mixture to cool completely. Add the vodka or rubbing alcohol (if using). then pour into a spray bottle with a fine mist nozzle (for example, an old hair spray bottle).

To Use

  • Shake well before every use. Apply a thin mist to dry hair.
  • Allow to dry before reapplying. Continue the process until desired hold is achieved. Store in the fridge and use within 1 week.

Notes

Prep time does not include the time needed for the mixture to cool.
