I have a personal question for you. Dig deep now and be your most authentic self, okay? This is a safe place . . . you won’t be judged for saying the wrong thing. No, really. I’ll love you no matter what your answer is. Ready? Alright. Here goes:
If you could have only ONE ice cream for the rest of your life, would it be vanilla or chocolate?
Pick your favorite! Don’t worry, I’m not going to actually take away one of them. You can have ALL THE ICE CREAM!
Do you love homemade ice cream? Here are some great recipes to try out!
- Mint Chocolate Chip
- Cookies & Cream
- Cherry Almond
- Strawberry
- Creamy Coffee
- Vanilla Coconut Milk
- Blackberry Sorbet by Nourished Kitchen
- Salted Caramel by Sprouted Kitchen
- Chocolate “Peanut Butter” Ice Cream With Chocolate Shell by PaleOMG
Unless you don’t have an ice cream maker, of course. If not, I recommend a Cuisanart 2-Quart Ice Cream, Sorbet & Frozen Yogurt Maker. It’s what I use to make treats for my precious littles.
What is your favorite homemade ice cream flavor?
One flavor?! Tough choice…probably dark chocolate ;).
I think I would choose vanilla ice cream, by the way. In the past, I would have said chocolate, but vanilla is just more versatile. And a really good, quality vanilla is so rich and creamy….mmmm. 🙂
If I could only have one kind of ice cream it would be vanilla.. because you could add any topping to it.. good luck to me.. 🙂
My dad is the ice cream making patriarch of our family and he would love a new machine!
I LOVE ice cream but my son and I are dairy free among other things. So I would share my Vanilla Bean Ice Cream with my son because he too needs ice cream to live fully. Then my sister Eva becuase she has done so much for me and SHE would love coconut ice cream too.
My LO has lots of food sensitivities, so most conventional ice cream is out. I would love to share some homemade ice cream with her!!
I love ice cream and i’d rather make my own so i can leave all the toxic additives out.
I raise Nubian dairy goats. I have 32 at last count. Me and the hubby have chairs set up outside the field where we sit and watch “GoaTV” with our dessert. So besides my hubby I would be sharing with the amazing critters that provided the milk and cream. They love it!
Always wanted one so that I can make a dairy free ice-cream that is delicious but wont make me sick!
I think I’d probably choose chocolate, because everything goes with chocolate 🙂 I would share the first batch with my husband and daughter.
I would share mine with my husband, since his weakness is ice cream. My daughter would enjoy some as well! 🙂
I would love one of these. I would make natural ice cream so that I wouldn’t be giving any artificial chemicals to my grandkids.
I would choose Vanilla. I enjoy Chocolate, but for long term, Vanilla would have to be my choice, and my husband (and best friend) would be sharing it with me.
Thanks for all the good you do! A ice cream maker is most definitely on my wish list. My toddler is turning 2 this July and i have several food allergies that have kept me away from ice cream for over 3 years now. It would be amazing to share a bowl with him. 🙂
My boyfriend is still using an old-school ice cream maker (has to add the salt and everything!) and I think this would be a welcome reprieve from that!
I would love love love to have an ice cream maker. Have thought about doing it in my food processor and just freezing and reprocessing it but it seems like too much work!!
I think I will make ice cream for my daughter’s 4th birthday this month and share it with all our friends and relatives!
As I read this post, I am actually eating (store-bought) ice cream with my boys. Chocolate all the way, baby! This is the exact ice cream maker that I’ve been trying to save up to buy so I can share some yummy homemade custard ice cream with my kids, just like I used to make with my parents when I was a kid.
I would have a Sunday dinner and share it with my family. I’d serve vanilla ice cream with toppings; strawberries, chocolate, maple syrup, bananas, coconut and chocolate chips. I think maybe whipped cream, too.
Our family would be first–for coconut ice cream–and then our small group … probably peach! YUM!
Vanilla. I can always add chocolate syrup if I want to. LOL. I’d share with my first batch (and probably subsequent batches) with my 89 year old neighbors. We love a root bear float on a hot day…..
I love CHOCOLATE ice cream. My kiddos & I would share the first batch for sure.
I love all your post. One of my favorites has been the homemade marshmallows. It is always fun to make those traditional unhealthy goodies in a new healthy way.
My mom has this exact ice cream maker and its awesome once you get the hang of it. I like vanilla raw goats milk ice cream! And I always share with my kiddos, unless it contains chocolate or coffee. ^_^
I could live without chocolate. I always pick vanilla over chocolate, whether we are talking ice cream or cupcakes.
I would share with my handsome hubs and the two most fantastic and adorbs kids in the universe.
Definitely vanilla!
I would share my first batch with my 10 year old daughter. We are both celiacs and my daughter loves icecream but of course often misses out on delicious flavours.
I would choose chocolate ice cream and I would share my first batch with my family of course.
Vanilla, of course! Because it can easily become any other flavor! I would share my first batch with my adorable hubby of 18 years, our 16 and 13 yr old boys, and 11 yr old daughter. I have the best easiest recipe, too. I love your e-book DIY Cleaners. Just cleaned my toilet with lemony fresh — worked great, smells so good! Thanks!
my first batch will be made as soon as I get this beauty, so just my hubby and daughter. Then I’ll share with my best friend and my daughter’s best friend… and our regular potlucks… and… oh so excited!
I would love to choose chocolate because it’s my favorite, but I would have to go with vanilla because of more possible toppings. I would love to make frozen yogurt to share with my husband and baby, and ice cream for the adults, of course!
Do I have to share my ice cream? haha No, I’m kidding! I can share with my six-year-old daughter. She’d love making her own desserts!
If I had only one flavour for the rest of my life I’d go with vanilla, as it is more versatile. I could always add homemade fudge sausce 🙂 I’d share my first batch with my kids and hubby.
If I had to choose one flavor, it would have to be vanilla (because you can have almost any topping, right?) I’d share my first batch of ice cream w/my daughter and husband.
I would LOVE to be able to make lactose-free ice cream for my family!!!
I would share my first ice cream with my brother, because he’s autistic and hasn’t eaten ice cream in YEARS because it makes his digestion stop and he gets sick after he eats conventional dairy.
At our house, the darker the chocolate, the better! So I’d make a big batch of that and share it with my hubby and daughter.
Chocolate! Although I have some kefir in the fridge I’m trying to learn how to use in more ways so that might be the first one I try making:) And I might share some with my hubby and kids before eating a gallon myself.
I will be sharing this with my kids who have not had icecream for a year now. We are on gaps/aip, so this would be awesome! We would have to make coconut based.
I would choose vanilla 🙂 And I would share it with a person who appreciates ice cream 🙂
The first one I’d share it with is my son, Josh. He has a lot of food allergies and it would be great, and so much cheaper, to be able to make allergy friendly versions of ice cream!
Coffee 🙂
Coconut milk!
Vanilla for sure. I can still add chocolate topping right?
I would make salted caramel and share with my hubby!!
Vanilla for me! I’m not a huge fan of chocolate ice cream, and there are so many ways to change up vanilla!
Chocolate. Without a doubt in my mind!
Chocolate. I only like vanilla ice cream in root beer, and chocolate might just taste good in that:).
Vanilla because it tastes so good with hot fudge and whipped cream {they would still be allowed, no?}
vanilla, your creativity of different toppings could be used for a different flavor every day….
Vanilla would be my pick, So many things I could top it with 🙂
I will definitely share my first batch with my best buddy, my Husband! I’ve wanted an ice cream maker for years and years, since I once read a GuidePosts story about how making icecream together helped a marriage! 😀
I took my kids to an antique store last week, and they saw a hand crank ice cream maker. We have not had ice cream in forever! We usually take frozen fruit and blend it in the blender as I have not had much luck with dairy free ice cream. I would love to get my kids and ice cream maker, so obviously my first batch would be shared with them. Pretty sure they would want chocolate.
I’ve been wanting a healthy replacement for store-bought ice cream, so this would be ideal! I have three boys at home who would love to share the first batch and we’d probably start with vanilla.
I dont know If it would be save to share my first badge of Ice cream.
I have a tendency to screw recipices up 🙁 However en machine like this should make the process a bit easier right?
The first actually edable badge I will share with my gramdma. She lives in a small villages in Holland and is to old to travel anywhere anymore. The local supermarkt doest sell to many different flavors and I know she loves mints. I would love to make her some chocolate mint Ice cream.
Salted Caramel ice cream!?!? OMG!! I would share with no one, lol! All mine!!
My family and I would love some homemade ice cream! Especially if it didn’t involve all the salt and noise. 😉
Vanilla- it goes better with sauces, and I’d share my first batch with my son. He’ll be old enough to try ice cream soon!
As blue berry season is right around the corner, i will definitely be making that with my little 2 year old! shes an ice cream freak!
I love chocolate.. be it icecream or a chocolate bar. I would sit down with all the icecream bucket for my own self & only think of sharing it if I am really full..
We fell in love with homemade ice cream when I had to go dairy free while nursing my fourth baby! I “won” a white elephant gift (hehe) of an ice cream maker and tried many different coconut milk recipes. Loved them! Then the ice cream maker died…boo. Now have toddler #5 (also dairy free) and baby #6 on the way. My family (especially my ice cream-addict-but- oh-so-very-picky-“it has to be natural” -husband) would go CRAZY for a new ice cream maker!!!
Chocolate ice cream with a peanut butter swirl. Hands down! I can hardly keep ice cream in my house with four people (two of them teenagers), so having this ice cream maker would be a big help!
I would love to make mint chocolate chip ice scream for my daughter’s 3rd birthday party! 🙂
Vanilla because you can add anything to it- even chocolate. I would share with my husband, my three year old, and my two year old…the baby would get it a few hours later. 🙂
It would have to be Goat Milk Ice Cream, the absolute BEST ice cream in the world and a life saver for my kids who could only do goat and sheep milk dairy – the ultimate! optional crowning glory is to toss in a crushed pecans, a bit of salt and shattered toffee crumbs and there we have i/c HEAVEN-SENT! This cheerful gadget would make it all go smoothly, that’s for certain! Thanks for the chance to be reminded of such splendid treats!
Vanilla – you can always add chocolate to it, and a lot of other goodies.
Hi Heather does it not bother you that the churned is plastic? Because plastic is well you know kinda toxic. I bought one from your link. But I was hooing to find an all stainless steel ice cream maker.
